Welcome to the
Biomedical & Analytical Center


B.A.C. operates under the umbrella of the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry at the Chemistry Department of the University of Ioannina, Greece, under the management of Prof. Andreas Tzakos.

It is an ISO/IEC 17025 compliant laboratory with state-of-the-art equipment. Its research focuses mainly on the biological processes at the molecular & atomic levels, with the ultimate aim of using this knowledge to tackle specific problems in human health and disease. It also provides analytical services for customers, such as pesticide/antibiotics/micropollutants screening, etc.

Participation in Green STEM training in Turkey

In the framework of the Erasmus+ project “Green STEM Model for Teachers’ Education” the Laboratory participated in the Green STEM training program that took place on April 25th and 26th at the city of Edirne, Turkey. The academic staff training was conducted using a specially developed handbook, which included lesson plans, teaching materials, and best practices for integrating green chemistry into STEM education.
