Personal profile

Nikolaos (Nicholas) was born in Sidirokastro, Greece (1979). He graduated from the Department of Chemistry of University of Ioannina (2003) with a general direction of studies on Chemometrics (Section of Analytical Chemistry).  There, he also completed his Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry techniques and applications focusing on liquid chromatography analysis (2006).

He has a demonstrated history of working in chemical analysis laboratory services (mainly in pesticide and food quality analysis), as well as in the pharmaceutical and food industry.

From his working experience, he gained skills in pesticide analysis (in food, vegetables & water), using Liquid and Gas Chromatography coupled to Mass Spectrometry analytical techniques, with various triple quadruple systems, as well as in general food quality analysis and relevant legislation. He is also skilled in Spectrophotometry and other analytical techniques.

He has acted as a technical manager of an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited private services laboratory and has developed and validated many analytical methods for accreditation.

Currently, he is the laboratory manager of Biomedical and Analytical Center (B.A.C.), under the direction of Prof. Andreas Tzakos, and in charge of the mass spectrometry instrumentation and its use. He participates in various scientific projects funded by EU/Greece as a senior analyst.
